Quick question for the guys:

Can I extend my coax run from the dish to the receiver by using a barrel connector and another piece of RG6? If so, any special barrel connector needed? At what point will I start experiencing signal loss?

Thanks!

Yes. There will probably be a slight increase in loss (even the longer cable length does that), but you shouldn't notice any effect as long as you aren't increasing the length by a very large amount). I use common barrels designed for cable TV without problems (no need to buy Monster brand, etc.)

I always wrap my connections with this as well. The tape does wonders.

I had my well pump replaced and guess what is used to contain the wires and prevent the pump from hitting the sides? Pump was 10 years old but looks like got lightening strike but the tape was still intact even under water.
