Extended C Band LNB

Trawling through the Tek2000 website earlier to see if they sell separately the polar mount fitted to the 2.4m Jonsa dish I came across their extended coverage C Band LNBf with dual IF's. Has anyone tried one, how does the regular C Band performance compare to what's already out there like the TiT C1 or 241 etc?

interesting item... I think that's the first time i see a LNBF that covers 4.5-4.8 (I knew Norsat had some LNBs that did that band though).

But as far as I know (based on Lyngsat), the only bird we can get in that 4.5-4.8 band is Eutelsat 65 West A, with a few Brazilian channels, and they are listed as having linear polarization. Luckily, from the picture on Tek2000's page, it seems that the dielectric is removable

IN what must be the coincidence of the year I checked my emails this morning to see one from Ebay alerting me to a Eurostar extended C band LNB listed as new old stock for £30 but with make an offer. I've managed to get it for £25 so worth taking a chance on it even if it's down on my other regular LNBs. I'll report back on its performance and I'm interested in trying for 65W from here (it's about 5° elevation above my west horizon) as the C Band footprint covers Europe as well as South America.

coincidence or targeted advertising? anyway that's cool. I didn't realize in my earlier reply that you were on the other side of the pond (other coincidence, I was in East Sussex just a few weeks ago)

5 degrees elevation and it's not very strong on its European part of that beam, so might be a bit challenging, but quite an interesting challenge!

There are 3 satellites with transponders in the 4.5-4.8 GHz that I can receive in North America. Last I looked at them (a few months ago) Lyngsat was accurate in their listings.

40.5 W SES-6: Circular, one ITC channel and one encrypted mux. Covers South American, most of North America and Europe, and a bit of North Africa.

65 W Eutelsat 65 W A: Linear, 2 ITC channels. Covers South America and somewhat less of North America, Europe, and North Africa than SES-6 does.

61 W Amazonas 2: Linear, I've only seen data channels here. Covers South America and some of North America.

Also, Hispasat 30W-6 will have 10 linear transponders in the 4.5-4.8 GHz band. Coverage is Southern USA through South America. It is scheduled to be launched by Space X later this year.

Back to square one the LNB, I misread the detailed info although the title does call it extended coverage, presume they mean wideband down to 3.4GHz so I will look into getting one of those from Tek. I'm in East Sussex too, literally a stones throw from the 0° meridian line and down on the coast near to Brighton!

it landed in the UK yesterday hopefully i will get my dish up in the next few weeks and give it a test, i am not holding my breath all of the UK is struggling with 65W i am hoping the Paraclipse 3.8 has the edge on other dishes that's been pointed at this bird from my location time will tell.

My dish is now up at long last ive got some fine tuning to do and i will do some tests and report back, i bet AceB cant wait for the results here is a little teaser of the beast .
