I am selling a Canon EF-S 55-250mm IS USM F/4-5.6 Telefoto lens. It is like new; barely used; including a UV lens filter/protector. Sells new for $265; selling it for $150+$10 shipping/handling. It is an excellent upgrade for any Canon DSLR user who wants more than the stock lens.

I am also selling the stock Canon EF-S is II USM 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 lens. This too is like new, barely used (purchased in February), and I'll include the UV lens filter with it. If you have an earlier Canon DSLR, this is a significant upgrade, as it now includes image stabilization. This lens sells new on Amazon for $198. I will sell it for $100+10 shipping/handling.

I will repeat - both of these lenses are in LIKE NEW condition. I just don't use them, as I have a variety of other lenses that I use in my arsenal. :)

Paypal or money order. PM me if interested.

The 55-250 really does take great pictures and is a nice upgrade for someone using the stock lens, gives you from 18-250mm in 2 light lenses. And the IS version of the stock 18-55 is a big jump over the 18-55 in the earlier Rebels.

I have a 5D Mark II.. Bought it just a few months before the Mark III was announced. Sigh… I’m using the Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS EF USM AF.. Wow, that’s a mouthful!
I really want to get a bigger lens for telephoto, I love shooting birds but the 105 doesn’t quite get me there. My next investment is gonna be the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM.
It’s a hunka-hunka chunka money though! $2,500…. YOW! And I’ll want to get an extender too, the EF 2x III. That’s another $450… $3k easy.. I better plan on selling a kidney..

One thing I have been looking at though is picking up an older, smaller frame Canon as a backup & counter weight (to put on the other side of my harness) and this would be some good glass to throw on it.
I also shoot a lot of “events” where my 24-105 suits the task quite well, but things happen fast and asking people to stop and wait while I change lenses doesn’t cut it.

If you still have these next week I may go ahead and pick them up, I can always pick up a smaller frame camera later on.. :)

The EF-S 55-250mm is sold.

The EF-S 18-55 IS II lens is still available. Bargain basement price of $75.

Watch out the clips break on those and you could bounce your camera off the ground and break it.

Oh… Bad timing for me.. :(
I won’t have any cash to work with until next week. Oh well, someone scooped up on a nice bargain there.
Anyway, any camera buffs checking out this thread might find this useful.

I took the possibility into account of a potential disaster and on my neck strap I put some quick disconnects so I can remove the neck strap quickly when I want to switch to the harness. I have some velcro straps wrapped around quick connect buckles so that they won’t ever even get the chance to fail, the velcro takes the strain. Even were the buckles/clips to fail, the velcro will hold.

I’m ultra paranoid about my camera.

On the harness the load bearing straps that the cameras hang from are sewn to the shoulder pads, there are no plastic clips. There is a steel swivel that slides on the straps so you can raise and lower the cameras and that attaches with a very sturdy plate to the tripod mount on the bottom. It’s very well made and I’m very confident in it.
