NCAA can't do anything, it's a legal matter handled by the DA and police.

It's sad that you are still trying to use the terrible events at Penn State to make you feel better about what tOSU did.
tOSU broke NCAA rules, got caught, and faced the punishments handed down by the NCAA. What NCAA rules were violated that would cause what happened at Penn State to be under their jurisdiction??
(Hint: None. If found guilty, those involved will wish it was as simple as serving a 5-game suspension.)

I didn't make it about you and your OSU, you did. Go back and look at post #8 and post #10 of this thread.Salsa already answered this, but your not chastising him ... It's called "Institutional Control".
Post 21 and several others ....
Don't make this about ME.
Exactly. And what would be the point of the NCAA stepping in, even if they could? It would be like having the company CFO go to prison for sexual impropriety, then have the BBB file suit to shut the company down. Makes no sense.NCAA can't do anything, it's a legal matter handled by the DA and police.
I wonder how much a break Paterno's getting because he is...well, Joe Paterno.

Most people don't realize how much of a break John Wooden got on a lot of matters because he was John Wooden.
For crying out loud, can you OSU blowhards please shut up about NCAA violations? It's just so amazingly off base.
JoePa should resign immediately. End of story. To believe that he was without knowledge of anything going on in the PSU AD is just so naive, it's astounding.
The Pennsylvania state police commissioner said Paterno fulfilled his legal requirement when he relayed to university administrators that a graduate assistant had seen Sandusky attacking a young boy in the team’s locker room shower in 2002. But the commissioner also questioned whether Paterno had a moral responsibility to do more.
yeah, but at point did John Wooden have someone inform him of one of his own coaches be a child molester? I doubt it.
I've wanted to avoid this entire thread and subject because it's so reprehensibly disgusting it turns my stomach...but I know I shouldn't. It's people turning a blind eye to these kind of things that allow them to continue.
I have a whole bunch of nieces and nephews of various ages, and God willing hope to have a future family of my own. I truly believe the light needs to be shined brightly on this...and if the light had shined in 1998, perhaps Sandusky would not be headed to prison right now...and more importantly a whole bunch of kids would have been spared this horrific and heinous man.
This whole story moves me to tears...mostly because at the time the protecting ADULTS was deemed more important than protecting the KIDS.

Paterno's weekly press conference was cancelled by the school.
Could THIS be the reason?!.........

Penn State Nittany Lions' sex abuse scandal -- Jerry Sandusky was on campus last week, reports say - ESPNFormer Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, who has been indicted on charges of sexually abusing eight boys over 15 years, had access to the team's weight room as recently as last week, according to reports.
The report came just hours before coach Joe Paterno was scheduled to hold his first news conference since his former protege was arrested Saturday on 40 criminal counts of child sex abuse. The news conference was abruptly canceled by the university Tuesday.
