Hello?!

I have a VIP 612. Could someone tell me what I could use the Ethernet and USB ports for?

I plugged my Ethernet cord coming from my modem to the reciever but nothing happened. Do I have to configure some settings or something for the 612 to recognize it. Thanks!

Eithernet is for DishOnLine and VOD, press Menu; System Setup; Installation; Broadband Setup; Network Setup then Reset Connection. When it shows info other than all 0's, then Done. You should be able to order movies.

USB is to add an External devise such as a digital camera to view photos on your tv thru the receiver or to active an external hard drive to move recordings to and free up dvr recording space.

Do a lot of people use VOD? Kind of seems like a ripoff. Netflix seems like a much better option. What are the advantages of VOD?

TV1 reboots while tv2 is fine on 722
