Ethernet and Authorization

Not likely and besides, Dish doesn't care about movers (even the audit dept). They care about giving you 2 or more receivers (for free) and then you buying dishes and other hardware off of eBay and allowing your brother, cousin, and uncle to use the add'l receivers on your account.

I agree...if you tell E* you live at 1313 Mockingbird Lane and **move** somewhere with better local programming by using a virtual phone number and brothers address, I don't think E* cares and they certainly don't have a legal obligation to play private detective. Additionally, I don't see where moving is a big concern now that locals are being spot beamed en masse.

In the past, many people also moved to the middle of nowhere where there are *no* local channels available. In those areas, you used to qualify for "distant nets", i.e. the NY and LA locals. They were real nice to have, especially before DVRs became common, in case you missed an 8pm show. Wait 'til 11pm and catch it on the LA channel.

First problem the ip is going to be what my router assigns not the hard ip of the connection. Secondly, my hard ip comes back to Comcast in NJ. I could be 100 miles in any direction from that office and have that IP.

Just saying, there is no way that ethernet is going to tell them where you are for authentication.

Also, you can always use a proxy server to connect and say your anywhere.

I think you need to go back to INTARWEBS Classes
