Error message #002 on 2700

I bought a reciever (2700) from my father-in-law, to hook up to a 500 dish that came with my new house. Problem is I only get less than half the channels I'm subscribed to. I have strong signal on 119, but not on all the transponders, some have zero. There is no switch detected. I'm sure the remedy is a simple one, but obviously, I have little to no idea what I'm doing here, so any advice will help.

My first thought is that your LNBF/switch setup is DishPro. Are you seeing ANY even numbered transponders? I'll bet not.

Legacy receivers like the 2700 require an adapter to work with the newer stuff.

Note that for various reasons there will ALWAYS be some missing transponders on any given satellite. The thing to check is that you are getting at least SOME odd and even numbered transponders.

You were right about that, I only have signal on odd numbered transponders, except for 9 which also is at zero. What can I do to fix this?

Like I said, you need a DishPro Adapter, or considering how much they cost, forget about the 2700 and pick up a more modern box.
