ER2 on new actuator

I recently bought a brand new Venture 36" actuator and getting the "ER2" message on my vbox 7. Before I put it on the dish I Tried it with the vbox and it worked flawlessly. Once I installed it on the dish I got the ER2 message twice then it worked and after around 100 counts it gets the ER2 message again. Any advice?

Possibly a bad connection on one of your sensor wires. Back of the VBox is a killer to keep tight connections when making changes.

I checked that and I used the scotchlock connectors on the only splice which is in a weather proof box on dish pole.

Wire could be broken inside insulation, where it isn't obvious, making intermittent contact?

May be pulling more current to lift the dish the the vbox can supply.

I checked the wires and wiggled em and still having the problem. I can move from 58w to 111.1w without any problems and it will start giving problems when going from 97w to 99w.

I've heard a lot of good things about the ASC1, would it be a good upgrade (power wise)?

Be like going from a toy dozer to a CAT. The ASC-1 will not even know an Actuator is hooked to it.
It was designed well above what is needed.

Regardless of the new purchase decision, you might try a vbox reset and see if its just a glitch... Making sure you know what sat you're on before you do it.
