As we all know, UPN & WB are merging to become CW come September. Converselly, at the same time, there will be a new network called My Network TV (MNTV) created by Fox.

We wondered what Equity stations will go where? Well here is the current list

Ft Smith/Fayetteville
KFDF (12114 TP...currently UPN) will be changing to MNTV
KWFT (11720 TP...currently WB) unknown at the time

Little Rock
KWBF (11799 TP...currently WB) will be changing to MNTV (the UPN station is changing to CW)

Roseburg, OR
KTVC (11799 TP...currently UPN) unknown at this time. There is no WB in the market (cable only)

Spokane, WA
KQUP (11799 TP...was UPN) changed to RTN on 1/1/06

Springfield, MO
KWBM (11799 TP...currently WB) will be changing to MNTV

Burlington, VT
WGMU (11799 TP...currently UPN) unknown at this time. There is a part time WB in market (piggybacks off Fox)

Marquette, MI
WMQF (11799 TP...currently FOX/UPN) will be changing to MNTV (along with Fox). Fox is on from 8-10 ET and MNTV is from 10-midnight

Waterloo, IA
KWWF (11720 TP...currently UPN) unknown. There is a WB in market that is changing to CW (KPWB)

C-Band side
WBIF (currently UPN) will go Independent (one station in the market decided to hog BOTH affiliates on their digital station)

So as of right now, those are where the Equity stations stand. Weird that there is NO CW stations signed up yet. Our best option is KWFT, which is currently WB. Since Equity owns both UPN & WB in the market, they have a little weight there :)
Our 2nd best option is WGMU...and that is if WFFF (the Fox affiliate) gives up their secondary WB affiliation.

on another note, the WB/UPN station for Puerto Rico (on G4) will be a CW affiliate

Ah, so a least the BUD people will be getting the CW -- is that one anyone has had success with on a microBUD? I'd love to experiment after I get things set up after I move here soon (a whole 3 miles away).

Otherwise, maybe there's hope for KTVC. I like it as a West Coast feed of UPN now (in case I miss Veronica Mars at 8pm), and if the only show I watch on UPN survives, it may be the only place I get CW (or "The CoW" as I have taken to calling it)

My Question is ....... What does "CW" stand for???????? I CAN think of MAY THINGS but those are probably NOT it >>>>> LOL

It’s tough with a 6 footer. The signal is pretty low (45 on the Pansat) and that’s with a lot of tweaking. I know PSB can get it too with his 6 footer.

This is from the always good Upper Midwest Broadcasting website:

Sinclair Broadcasting has reached a deal to carry the CW on current WB affiliates KWMB/23 (Minneapolis) and WVTV/18 (Milwaukee). CW now has distribution in every Upper Midwest market, and as it worked out, every current WB affiliate in the region will become a CW affiliate. Meanwhile, WB affiliate KWKB/20 (Iowa City-Cedar Rapids), which has already reached a deal to carry CW, will also be a secondary affiliate of My Network TV. That leaves current UPN affiliate KWWF/22 (Waterloo-Cedar Rapids) without a network.

Good news for us Minnesotans who were concered we'd get stuck without the station. On the other hand, it looks like KWWF will likely go RTN, or possibly Univision.

Have some updates since this was done originally

still unknown at this point

won't get either. CW is going to a digital subchannel and My is going to a LP station in market. KTVC will go independent (maybe RTN or Univision)

Burlington, VT
WGMU (11799 TP...currently UPN) unknown at this time. There is a part time WB in market (piggybacks off Fox)
going to MNTV

Waterloo, IA
KWWF (11720 TP...currently UPN) unknown. There is a WB in market that is changing to CW (KPWB)
going indy. The current WB is hogging both affiliations

WGMU is going My Net. The Fox in the market (WFFF) which had WB at 10PM is getting the CW

Hey Ice did you say that Mytv is a FOX venture? If so I wonder if they will scramble, FOX seems to hate to have anything ITC? not that I am wishing this or trying to jinx us.

yes My is a Fox venture (owned by Fox) but in Ft Smith the Fox affilaite is leaving KPBI and going somewhere else. So maybe they will unencrypt it?

Didn't see this coming.

WBMM, the Daystar affilaite in Montgomery, AL (9th channel in 11799 mux) is going CW

So we'll have a CW on the stronger TP :)

I am glad to hear about KWWF, as that is my local station. IF RTN ever went away on G10, I could still get it :)

checking the titantv, I don't think KWWF will go full blown RTN. They may just fill in the 2 hour UPN blocks with programming. The rest of it is pretty much set

Same with the other stations. They'll probably keep their existing lineup excpet for the missing WB/UPN blocks

I hope so...I never understood the whole scrambling thing anyway (I know it all has to do with money...I'm not that dumb), but I would think that some of these networks would want to make it as easy as possible to see their programming (because lord knows I can't get enough skating with celebrities  )

nah. The Fox getting scrambled was probably due to 3 letters

N
F
L

But they never scrambled WMQF so that may not be valid
