Photoman76 - Could you post the Spec's for the RTN Mux DVB-S2. I have the DVBWorld DVB-S2 PCI Card that I would like to test.

Thanks!

Same here... My HTPC has one turbo 8PSK, one Twinhan QPSK(not used much), 3 QAM/ATSC tuners with about a TB of storage. BeyondTV runs the tuners...best DVR PC software I've seen hands down!

The PC is only hooked up to the 57inch but I've got one of those gyration air mouse keyboard combo's for gaming on the big screen.

Its been a couple of years since I've tried BeyondTv, I've been reading a lot of good things about it lately, time to have another look. I"ve been using Mediaportal and Meedio, and waiting forever for MeediOS........that is a LOT of tuners packed in that machine!

Which of those models do you have and what is the range like?
9116urf, I havent tested the range to see how far I can go. I can use it anywhere in the living room no problem. basically Ive got a 50" plasma and anywhere Ive taken the keyboard and can still see the screen, its worked. hehe.

I remember him mentioning equity's plans to switch to dvb-s2. I also remember him mentioning this feed and what satellite it was on, but I never recall him mentioning the parameters of the feed. I could be mistaken but I don't think he did, because I recall having to search for it after seeing him mention the existence of the dvb-s2 feed. Are you sure you saw the parameters posted here?

I need a keyboard with about a 40' range without LOS since my PC is located in my rack and my TV's are in 4 different rooms, that is why I am asking.

I know the Gyration Mouse/Keyboard combo works from another room.

The turbo 8PSK is USB and the HDHomeRun(dual tuner network tuner) is in another room. So technically there are not in the machine but are fully available.

I have a Gyration but hate it, really like the idea of the intergrated joystick mouse like my IR Airboard from Liteon (but not the range)

It does take some time to get used to it, but once you learn to use it like a flash light you'll be clicking and dragging like a pro. I used to put it on a mouse pad all the time to use the optical option on the mouse but I never do it anymore since I can do anything I want in the air.

I broke down today and ordered a Technotrend S2 3200 from the Cyberstore. It's a pre-order and said they were expecting a new shipment in the 1st week in March. So maybe I won't be waiting too long to see some S2 Equity Programming. Wish me luck!

I'm starting to think that the first manufacturer to release an affordable receiver capable of DVB-S2, is going to sell every one of them. I read that some of the site sponsors have something in the works. I hope it comes before the Equity channels go dark.

What about a group buy for Satellite Guys? I'm in!

SatelliteAv,Sadoun, what say you? :D

The only low cost solution I have found so far is the World DVB-S2 card at $90.00CAN, but it is currently not in stock. The dealer expects them in shortly... whenever that is.
The Pansat 9200HD is one solution, but the DVB-S2 add in board is $250.00CAN on top of the receiver price.
Pansat 9200HD $399.89
DVB-S2 module $250.00
----------
$649.89 (plus taxes)

A little too pricey.

I, for one, would not buy a DVB-S2 receiver without 4.2.2 HD capability, but that's just me, and yes I have come across DVB-S2 4.2.2 signals.

I'm on your side on this. I'm going to have a hard time shelling out big bucks for anything without 4:2:2 support . I can always "make do" with a new card in my HD PC, currently hosting the skywalker-1 .

:)
