I am assuming for a Hopper 2 w/sling installation is a matter of turning the receiver off, inserting the Snap into the upper USB slot, and turning the receiver back on?

You don't ev en have to turn it off. After a minute or so, your Hopper will Refresh, maybe several times and you'll get a Popup showing The Snap is Active.
The difference will be noticed the second you open a menu
