Equipment sale question

I have recently moved to Dish from D* and was planning to try and sell my old Hughes TiVo unit before they are obsolete. I have seen them on Ebay both with and without the access card. Is there some reason that I would not want to sell it with the card? Thought I'd ask those in the know before I do something else stupid.

The receivers without cards have generally been compromised (hacked).

If it's a legit reciever you need to sell it with the card or else it will be useless until they buy one
