It's been awhile since I stopped at electronics stores in the neighborhood. In the past few days I visited several stores and checked the DVD section out of curiosity. One thing surprised me: HD DVD and Blu-ray discs had equal exposure in all the stores I visited, including Best Buy, Circuit City and Target. All stores now have separate stands (of equal size and shape next to each other) for both formats. Even Circuit City that just recently was heavily shifted towards Blu-ray, now gives equal opportunity to both formats. Gone are floor-standing Blu-ray booth-displays and HD DVD discs are no longer hidden behind regular DVDs. The two formats now have their own shelves with good visibility and peacefully coexist with each other showing about equal variety of titles.
