Burning a hole in the forums this morning....

Does anyone have FIRST HAND experience with any of the larger multi-switches?
By larger, I mean >5 or even >8 inputs ?

I'm considering trying this 16-in (+ 1 port for terrestrial), 8-out model from
EMP-Centauri:

http://www.emp-centauri.cz/products.php?menuId=2&page=170-ap-8

This switch can hopefully be switched across all 16-inputs using the 16 switching states of DiSeqC but it is unclear whether it is that simple.

I've decided to order one and run it through it's paces with a Pansat receiver.

I found one of EMP's dealers in Canada who is willing to special order one for me. Some emailing to EMP in the Czech Republic determined that it will run on 120v as well as 220v.

The idea with this multiswitch is to connect eight dual LNBFs to multiple receivers.
I called Panarex to ask if it might work. The fellow I spoke with seem to think their receivers will work with a multiswitch, even though they don't have a specific multiswitch designation in their setup menu.

Comments appreciated.

I’ve used a 4x4 & 5x8 multiswitch with no issues.

Right now I have a 4x4 using 4 single LNB’s
G4 C-Band H only is on 18v
G10 KU Band V only is in 13v
SBS6 H only is in 18v+22k
Nimiq 1 V only is in 13v+22k

Run 4 receivers off this setup..Plus is only one switch. Drawback is I only get one polarity of each LNB (which is fine the way I have it set up)

With a 8 input you would have port 1,2,3,4 and port 1,2,3,4 with 22k on but I don’t know how you’d get 16 inputs setup in the menus

I had seen system diagrams with stacked DiSeqC and thought I'd give one integrated unit a try to make multi-receiver ops simpler (at least in terms of a commonly connected unit).

Here is the 16-state DiSeqC diagram I'm working with. Will be interesting to see how this works out:

Note that this diagram seems to be meant for those crazy universal (dual LO) quattro style LNBFs used outside North America. I cite this table only to show the switching states and that I'd hope to connect 8 dual, non-universal, single-LO feeds to these 16 ports.

Thanks.
