As part of Emotiva's Reference Series, the XPR-1 is the company's flagship mono-block power amplifier. It boasts 1,000 watts into 8 ohms (and 2,000 into 4), making it a nice building block for a two-channel system or a full surround setup.
The XPR-1 also has an impressive set of specs, starting with a 30-pound 2.5kVA toroidal transformer and a massive low ESR capacitor bank, which powers a Class H power amplifier. Other features include an ARM microprocessor, balanced and unbalanced inputs, heavy-duty binding posts, a 12-volt trigger input and output, an input voltage switch and an IEC receptacle.
