I was wondering if anyone knew the programmer that EMM Provider number 4096 belongs to?

I believe EMM Provider number 4128 is Star Choice and 4160 is HITS, but don't know who has 4096.

I asked the phone operator at SPS Programming, but of course they weren't able to tell me and didn't even know what a EMM Provider number was.

I am wondering why you want to find out this info, out of curiosity??...I have equipt to analyze the TS stream for both DVB and DC2. If you want me to check out, PM me where the signal is. Maybe there are some other info on the stream will tell you who the provider is.

He was trying to get an old SC/HITS box set up for 4DTV and the programmer asked him when he checked signal to put that info in to verify he was on the right satellite :)

Yes, Iceberg I am still trying to get one of my digicipher receivers authorized. :) I also verified what you had told me that in order to receive hits and mapping you must be on channel 440 on X4.

SPS Programming has no idea what a EMM Provider number is. After all they are just phone operators going by a book.

When I plug in my DSR421 receiver it looks like EMM Provider 4096 wants to be used compared to the DSR410 receiver that used EMM Provider number 4160.

I wish you the best on getting a non 4DTV digicipher authorized for 4DTV programing. Although the descrambiling may be identical I would think Motorola has contract's they have to adhere to that won't allow them to do it. You may want to call the ACC at (800) 976-5174 and see if they could shed more light on the subject.:) I talked with the ACC (Motorola's) tech dept about a non documented function the 922 has last year. They were the only ones that gave me a straight answer. I had to call a few times to get to talk with a tech but it was worth it.

Talking with the program providers I doubt that you will get anywhere. There just telephone operators reading from a screen.

It's all about politics. It's the same type reason's that we can't get ESPN, Disney or ABC Family on the 4DTV in digital. They don't want us to have it and they control the card's :(

Well perhaps if more people shifted from DBS providers to 4DTV to receive higher quality video this might change. I am already seeing a growth in C band interest and many past C band people are coming back and getting their dishes back into shape. I just hope this continues.

What I am really wishing for is for some company or companies coming out with newer versions of the 4DTV digicipher receivers.

I now have my DSR410 receiver hooked up and am receiving a EMM Provider stream as well as several trips on the counter. Also, the unit no longer displays "Not Authorized", but rather "Not Subscribed" and programming information is being displayed. The bad news is that the audio channels are still in the 700's and I still don't receive GSN that I subscribed to in order to authorize the receiver.

I have seen 4096 in my DSR905 on channels I subbed with NPS if that helps. I have also seen other numbers there also on multiple lines at times. I never really thought about it.

I love C band and have been with it since 1987. I have seen alot of changes from that time till now. I will always use it as long as I can receive something.

The trend seems to be leaning toward's the LSD's bigtime. By not letting us subscribe to channels hurts us more. The problem is the 4dtv is old technology , unless someone comes up with a megapipe capable receiver there will be very little to choose from as far as master feeds soon. If NPS moves to IPTV only that will really put a knife in the 4dtv's back. I hope that IPTV don't happen since NPS is at least taking it upon themselves to bring back what they can in 4dtv mode.

There is HITS on G-16 but they don't offer all the standard basic cable channels that NPS reuplinks. The more people that jump on the C band bandwagon the better. I don't think we will ever have the numbers we had say 10 years ago ever again. C band is moving back to as it started with the hobbyists and away from the mainstream.

We can just wait and see what happen's

That just means that it has received the latest monthly keys. The unit Id must still be in the original HITS database. Unless your program provider has permission to authorize a DSR 410, I doubt that any subscription channel will ever get turned on. The 410 is a HITS only box and would have to be authorized through HITS (Comcast) If you live in an area where Comcast offers HITS you may be able to get them to do something. To use a Big Dish C/Ku program provider your going to have to get a 905 sidecar, 920 or 922.

Maybe this link can help:
