ehd works without activation!

I want to know if anybody has tried some magic with a NAS that also has a USB port. I was thinking of rsync over the network between multiple NAS units, each one connected via USB to a Dish receiver.

If you don't think $40 is a lot, then fine, but rolleyes? Srsly?

Maybe those that are happy that it's free (for how long, who knows) should just send in $40 anyway.

I plugged a drive into my 722 and nothing showed up. Do I still need to call them to activate it? Or did I need to go somewhere in the menus to get it going?

Is it a drive with a power supply? USB powered drives will not work.

That would be it then. It was a usb powered drive, the only extra drive I have. Guess I will have to get another one. Thanks for the info.
