Can i use an ehd with a 625? I am replacing my 722k and my 625 with a h/j and would like to transfer some recording off of them to an ehd. I have seen conflicting reports on the 625...

I too have a 625 and just upgraded to the H & J system, and I found that you can (assuming it isn't leased and will be going back to Dish) connect your 625 to another input on the TV and still view the DVR contents. Also I ran across something in the menu the other day that stated I had no external devices connected so that made me wonder if maybe it can be connected to an EHD. I don't have an EHD to use to try it and I don't know if I want to go out and buy one just to try it (since the H&J has a 2 TB HD I don't see me using it on it anytime soon).

You could connect a small drive to upload photos to the 625, Dish used to have a small player (I don't recall the name of it off hand) that you could transfer sd recordings to, but the 625 never had the software in order to use an EHD.

Pocket Dish....long gone.

And your last option, a PC with a capture card. Any one of those ways will do the trick it'll just take a good long bit to do since it'll be all in real time.

If you are referring to the Hopper, you can connect an EHD for more storage capacity or if you want to save some/all of your recordings. The 625 does not have en EHD capability. Thanks.
