EHD transfer times

Couldn't find anything similar on a search, so apologies if this has already been discussed.

What is the expected transfer rate on EHD transfers? For a 7.5GB 3-hour HD recording, it took about 30 minutes. I would expect a USB2.0 connection to go much faster than that. What are your experiences? This is on my 722.

Since it's encrypting the data it's not going to be able to max out the USB connection.

But is that rate I reported typical? Just trying to gauge against others. Is the Hopper speedier in that regard due to the increased CPU power?

Does it matter how long it takes?

Since the EHD is USB 2.0 now, should we assume that you were wondering about USB 3.0?

No, but I was just curious as I have been getting closer to USB 1.0 speeds than 2.0 speeds.

The 722 is a lot slower than the Hopper transferring to EHD. 30 minutes sounds about right from what I remember of my 722.
