It also should be noted that the reported speed is probably not accurate. The E-6 satellite is probably still accelerating since it has its move only started a few days ago at most so the reported speed is probably low. Expect E-6 to be at the 61.5 W slot by March 1 with FCC approval to start downlinking signals. It will be interesting what programming Dish puts on E-6, will it be the latest HD or other programming. What Dish will have is 5 more TPs to use from 61.5 W since E-6 can provide downlinks from these 5 TPs that E-3/E-12 can not. Dish might be able to use more of the spotbeam TPs on E-12 to provide more locals and perhaps a few fulltime RSNs.

Dish has to be careful though as they stated E6 would be only used if E3 had another failure. Kinda like a hot spare that they don't need to notify the FCC on.
Have they filed the modifications with the FCC for the uplink sites to communicate with E6 at 61.5 like they said they would?

They have it (don't have the link but you can search). I believe to move but not operate (yet).
How 'bout this:The link to the FCC Permit on the first post says "Filed, Waiting for Fee Verification.

There isn't that much room on 129 though...

Do you have a link??The following is known:
- No more new HD channels on 61.5
- Dish has no short term plans for full time RSNs (although circumstances could cause them to change their mind at any point).
So, that leaves using more spotbeams on E-12, and since they need more bandwidth for new local HD channels than anything else, that seems likely anyway.
It looks like E-6 should arrive at 61.5 W either sometime on Sunday 2/28 or Monday 3/1 at the latest. I guess will see how soon the FCC will let them downlink signals from it. I would expect Wednesday 3/3 at the latest.
will this sat that move to 61.5 will lets as get the new HD channels ?
if any one knows
