ECHOSTAR 11 RESTRICTED BY FCC !!

Actually, before the ITU publishes Echostars' approved change to the Region 2 BSS plan. E* already submitted it but the way govt agencies work, if it is not published, it doesn't exist so they have issued a clarification to E11's license based on an obsolete plan from the ITU. .

If you read the FCC filing, you see that the existing ITU Dish plan for 110W is for Echostar 6. They have not even gotten it updated to Echostar 8 let alone Echostar 11. Now, that's what I call coordination.

CommCtr -- I've been looking for the link to the 2008 annual reports- seems they have moved them from where they were posted last year.

Could you add the link?
Thanks

I hope the attached pdf works.

Filing Complaints

If anyone thinks Echostar 11 improved their reception (better reception in rain, loss of signal in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, USVI, etc) they should file a complaint on the FCC web site and email or call their congressional representative regarding the recent action by the FCC on E11.

There is no hotter issue than voters tv reception to bureucrats and politicians.
Many viewers have had the improved reception put at risk by the FCC action and you better speak up or be prepared to accept the potential consequence of lower quality or lack of signal if there is a future interference problem with Spectrum Five.

Isn't it about time we squish these made up companies and patent trolls.

We saw Jr Ewing in the 80's doing funny things in business and we were shocked.
Now days with the JR's in control on everything, we turn the other cheek. How sad.

The "JR's" have always been in control of everything.

The only difference is that in the past, the media created this myth of leaders who had your best interests at heart. Nowadays, the Internet allows this myth to be debunked.

The excellent TV series "Rome" (available on DVD) is particularly good for showing how the "JR's" controlled everything 2500 years ago...

That's their annual report???

Where are the financials?

This lawyer keeps claiming that things are being done and moving forward but never shows any of it.

That is an annual report to the FCC. If they had to file with the SEC, then there would be financials.

Hot off the press.

Regarding Spectrum Five -- they were mentioned by Transverse at the CTIA IT and Entertainment show last week in San Fran. They have procured their back office provider (OSS/BSS - billing, customer care, etc.) from Transverse. S5 has 500Mhz at 114.5 (CONUS+ slot -- the first CONUS slot since 1996). Transverse mentioned supporting both retail and wholesale operations. Spectrum Five is contracted with Loral for the build-out. 114.5 WL is a true KU Tweener. Spectrum Five has other filings. Both DTV and Echo have mentioned Spectrum Five in their past SEC filings. This isn't new news. Their were granted landing rights by the FCC in November 2006 and survived appeal by ECHO and DTV this year. This is all public info, how did you not know about it?

Let's all hope that the launch of Spectrum Five's first 114.5? satellite will be on a Proton with a BRIZ-M third stage... ;)

According to Spectrum Five's Annual Report to the FCC (see post #42), these sats are only in the design phase and have not been approved. Let's see if Spectrum Five can actually come up with the millions ($$$) to start construction if and when the sats are approved by the FCC.

By the time that happens we might be talking about Echostar 22 and its super Star Trek transport spot beams where you can instantly be beamed to the event.

According to the Authorization, the Critical Design Review must be completed by 11/26/2008 and the first sat constructed by 11/26/2010. So we should know shortly about Spectrum Five's viability.

Where is my remote access? Where is my built in slingbox?
