I wouldn't imagine so, since it just plugs into another input on your TV. I guess I'll find out Thursday night. I'm liking the Alexa integration
It has the Dish Anywhere app which basically turns it into a "free" receiver
Be nice to use that in my bedroom and give back my WiFi Joey plus have it when I'm working out of town
That's what I do as well. When traveling I take the Fire stick and remote with me and hook it up to the HDMI port on my hotel TV. Then it's just like I'm at home watching TV on my Hopper

I imagine that it works like the Dish Anywhere app on my PC. You can set timers using the Dish Anywhere app, (so you can set timers for shows that will record on the Hopper). You can bring up the program guide, then choose to watch or record shows from the program guide.
Love the fireTV sticks. I side loaded Kodi and play media from a NAS on my local network. I already have 3 of them but still might order another for 20 bucks.
Just received my four Dots in the mail. Already found something to do with the two extra ones I ordered.
From it to the Hopper? You can use the DishAnywhere app to record, and then play back that recording (or live TV) on the Fire TV stick. But the Fire stick has HDMI output, so your Hopper cannot record from that. Did I misinterpreted your question?
Oooh, I want to do that too. Can it play back MPEG2 program streams? That would be really awesome.
I’m sure it could. Kodi can play just about anything (DRM free). I have a Raspberry Pi with a external drive connected... install Samba and create a windows share.. and point Kodi to that shared drive. If it’s from your movie collection, it’ll add album art and tv/movie descriptions.. works like plex but without the transcoding. Most of my media is mpeg4.. but im sure mpeg 2 will be just fine. It’s like the VLC of firetv’s.

Got one Dot and two smart plugs yesterday. Another dot with the promo smart plug plus two more and a Fire Stick come Wed. I love the holidays...lots of toys for us SatGuy boys!
Love the Dots. Very useful. Hands-free automation and voice commands are the future.
