I have a DW6000 system that I quit using last Dec 2005, because I got DSL. In a year or so I will move to the wilds of New Mexico and they have no DSL, so I was planning resurrect the DW6000. I have a couple of Channel Master 1.2 meter dishes and was wondering if I could put the transmitter hardware on one and the receiver on one and have better up and down speeds.
Anyone done anything like that?

No better up or down speeds just better signal. The signal does not dictate how fast you run but how long it will stay on in the rain. I assume you only have a regular 1 watt radio arm? If so you will only be able to get a 256k 4/5 range out of it. You could more than likely get a 2 watt and get a stronger transmission range which will help your uploads but in order to get better downloads you will need to go to a office plan.
