What's the USB plug for?

My computer doesnt recognise it.

Can movies be transfered from the dvr hard drive to a windows based computer?-
Besies running it's output to a tuner card and re-recording all the content.

How is the dvr625 hard drive formatted?
Poped it into the desktop and it's not a recognisable format.

USB can be used to upload photos from digital camera to the Hard Drive, download programs to a pocket dish and (at some future time) download programs to an exteranl Hard Drive.

Not windows

The HDD is Linux based in E* DVR's. They also have proprietary info on the USB out. You can find out more on yahoo groups. They have dish mod, dish rip, and PVRSE info that could help with downloading info off the HDD.
