DVR on VIP22K?

Hey, I just recently replaced ( or "upgraded") my 625 reveiver with a VIP22K HD receiver, and so far I am not a big fan of it. Although, I did get HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc. for free, so that is a bright side. However, this brings me to my problem. Does this model not have a DVR, because, when I press the DVR button nothing happens, and when I press Menu and go to Preferences, where on my old 625 receiver it used to say Recording Preferences, there now is no option for it. Does this model even have a DVR, and if not, is there any other way to record my shows on it? Thanks in advance!

No such receiver.. Vip 722K maybe.. Or 222K.. You need to let us know which receiver you have.. There is no Vip22K.

The 722K is a Dual DVR.. THe 222k is a dual receiver with NO DVR. All the remotes look pretty much the same with the DVR function buttons. But they will only work if the receiver actually has the DVR ability

this is not a DVR, and these rcvrs were manufactured with two different motherboards. One board does support an External Hard drive, therefore would technically be able to record to it, however the other board does not support it. therefore, dish will not activate this feature for these rcvrs
