Now I just got my Dish Network DVR today, and I used to have Tivo.

Now with Tivo all I had to do was get a wireless usb network adapter for DVR and connect it to my home network and transfer files through Tivo Desktop software.

How can I do the same (transfer files from DVR to PC) in Dish Network DVR?

it a tuner card that you can hookin to your pc via pci slot
so if i have a dish ird hookedup to tv via rca cables or svideo i then can run wire from dish box tv out to the cpu wintv in
so you then can record dish program on pc via wintv software

or you hook wintv upto vcr and can then play vhs movies to cpu and record then burn old vhs tapes to dvd
the quality is still the same as vhs tape, but its on dvd

to answer your question straight out, NO, you can not transfer files between Dish DVR's and your computer (cept through some hacks to the box that you wont find on this site.. and which voids your warranty). You will have to rerecord the programming in real time through a video card in your pc.

Moving, should I use Dish Mover, or Cancel and Setup New Service

811 & OTA channel loss
