DVI to VGA converter?

Im trying to run Voom video via VGA (computer type) cables. Can I convert the DVI out of my Voom reciever to VGA with a simple switcher? Ive been trying a Component to VGA transcoder with no luck.

videocards usually come with a dvi to vga adapter. I actually have a couple.

No,the DVI is now HDCP(copy protected)can't change it.
