New HD user. Currently using component connection. Is DVI cable worth it? Any recommendations? Are all DVI's created equal?

Don't waste your money on Monster brand, or almost any other so-called "premium" brand. Anything over $20 is wasted.
Almost any DVI-D cable will do just fine. A ton are available online or at local computer retailers for under $20.

I second Gary's recommendation. Don't spend more than $20 - $25 on a cable.

I second that emotion. I only use DVI with my dirct-view tube HDTV because I need the component out for my front LCD projector. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. (I wish the lcd pj had DVI input. That would probably make a diff.)
