GaryPen Rich or poor, it's good to have money. Supporting Founder Mar 2, 2004 16,677 605 I only lived in California. I'm FROM Brooklyn. Jun 28, 2004 #2 Don't waste your money on Monster brand, or almost any other so-called "premium" brand. Anything over $20 is wasted. Almost any DVI-D cable will do just fine. A ton are available online or at local computer retailers for under $20.

If your using a fixed pixel display (Plasma, LCD, DLP, LCOS) a DVI connection can provide a small but noticable improvement in PQ. I second Gary's recommendation. Don't spend more than $20 - $25 on a cable. NightRyder

Unless you need to free up a component input for something else, I doubt you'll see enough difference to justify the change. IMHO NightRyder

I only use DVI with my dirct-view tube HDTV because I need the component out for my front LCD projector. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. (I wish the lcd pj had DVI input. That would probably make a diff.)
