I run a mix, and I will put up $100 that it's not CPU-brand specific.
It may be motherboard CHIP specific, which may look like it's CPU-specific.
But, I doubt even that.

That is kind of what i was alluding to. I think my MoBo is an ASUS in the desktop. Laptop, I have no idea.

While I share Anole's feelings for USB, this device is particularly touchy. Once it's messed up is a royal pain to fix.

It doesn't help that the included software kind of sucks.

What I've done in the past is download and install the latest DVBWorld software from their website and then use DVBDream.

You can get drivers etc here (great - they've made more changes!):

The DVB World software is available here:

The WDM drivers is something new... I'll have to play with the box some more.

Hmmm.. Do you have DVD player software installed on the machine?

Mine uses the Intervideo codec when I use DVBDream.

The WorldDVB software should playback HD natively but for me it stuttered like crazy.

It's probably codec problem causing the crash.

On the USB note....I've had zero issues with the USB port feeding my Genpix on my AMD motherboard. I've used it on an ASUS and MSI motherboard. I regularly send E*'s 40mbps mux's down the pipe too.

Sounds like a poor USB implementation on DVBWorld's part.

Looks like there's another update just recently (last week or so). New driver which supports Vista.
