Dups on both polarities

I can't remember if its always been the case with my 4DTV receiver (been in this hobby since 1991), but since I've moved to Cape Cod in 1999 and set up my BUD dish slaving my 4DTV to a MPEG2 receiver, I always got H and V scans of the same transponder. First when using my Fortec Star DVB-786 NA and currently with my Micro HD receiver. I kinda thought that was the norm. I just deleted the transponders with the wrong transponder readings. [h=1][/h]

In your system the polarity is selected by the master receiver and is the norm. To avoid duplicate channels, select the polarity to scan rather than both H and V.

The OP is not slaving the receiver and has a SL1PLL LNBF, which is a voltage controlled polarity type.

Thanks for your response. What you said makes sense of course.
Don't know how i got in the habit of scanning H and V channels the way i do...gotta break this habit...lol.:)

Ok storms stopped and finally check it the right way.

The dups are V chans, i got 18.13 at the lnb on H and V.

Now heres the kicker, i did it the right way this time and still it rebooted itself while checking the voltage and now working correctly.

I think somethings wrong with the micro.

Something is wrong with this report.

If the voltage at the LNBF is 18.3vdc on both horizontal and vertical transponders, but the receiver is only receiving vertical transponders, there is either something wrong with BOTH the receiver AND the LNBF or the testing is not being done correctly or using transponders with incorrect parameters.

Please report an example channel and the transponder that you were receiving as a vertical channel. Is this a preprogrammed transponder or one that you blind scanned or manually added?

Did you test with the splitter in line with the LNBF connected to the other port or remove the coax and test the coax directly?

Are the duplicate channels occurring only on transponders that were blind scanned or on original preprogrammed transponders?

My guess is that the LNBF is not switching to horizontal due to either internal defect or cable/connection. What PLL LNBF brand/model?

abc news one come in on H and V. (fixed on 91 btw)

i did not use a splitter i dont have one, i thought i did, so i removed power off before removing the lnb and before reconnecting it.

only blind scan.

it is your PLL lnb.

should we start with replacing that?

I wouldn't recommend replacing the LNBF at this point as it hasn't been properly tested and verified to be the cause.

Unfortunately, your replies only contain information addressing some but not all questions and test using methods not recommended. It is very difficult to troubleshoot and resolve with partial information.

Were both News One Channels from the same transponder or was one from a second transponder with same or different parameters? Press the INFO key to display transponder parameter information.

Please perform a factory reset, remove the power for 5 seconds then repower. Delete all transponders from 91w then perform a blind scan of the satellite.

Report if duplicate horizontal and vertical transponders are logged.

If no duplicates, enjoy and let us know if the problem happens again.
