I have a dumb question about installing a Corotor II on a 7.5 SAMI dish. I currently have a Dual C feed, but I am replacing it with a Corotor II C/Ku feed with a polarizer, Idealy I would have gotten a orthomode C/Ku, but I didn't want to shell out around $500 for the feed and Ku LNB's.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I got a Pansat 9500HDX with the polorizer to adjust the skew.
When I install the feedhorn, is there any specific way that I need to skew the LNB's when I install the feedhorn, or will I just use the skew control on the Pansat to adjust?
Also, since the Pansat only has one LNB input, do I need to use a 22khz or Diseqc switch to combine the C/Ku lines into one cable? Which would be better? I will appreciate your help.

Thanks

You can use either one of the 22kHz or diseqc 1.0 switches, or in combination after the G-box positioner.

9500HDX>G-box>diseqc 1.0 sw OR >22kHz sw

Thanks alot for the help. Maybe since I am off work on Friday, I will have time to install it either Thursday evening or Friday. I will let everyone know how it goes. As an aside, I have not read very much about the Pansat 9500, but I have been very impressed with it so far, I will have to play with it some more to find out if I like it as well as the Manhattan. It is too bad that Pansat is the only one that puts a polarizer in their receivers, I wish that more of the manufaturers would.

Yes, there are a number of us that wish that too, but apparently not a large enough number...lol

Welcome to our small but devout (some say stubborn, antique, archaic, etc) club.
Dont listen to that stuff, we know a good thing........lol

it would be great to have an accurate positioner and polorizer controls in fta boxes.

i would love it if my pansat 9200's had "M1 , M2, sensor, Gnd, +5, pulse, Gnd.

Not me. The receiver would be MUCH larger. I like my G Box in the basement, out of sight. All the ugly wiring no where in sight. Servo control in the G Box mover would have been nice though. But the update to an LNBF* means I don't need that any more, so it's a moot point.
*Or an Ortho w/switch for those into weak/marginal signals. (seems my 10ft/LNBF gets 99.999% of anything reported out there.)

Yeah, I've got a Corotor II that I took off my 10ft Winegard dish back a year or so ago and I did miss it this spring when there were a bunch of Ku feeds @ baseball spring training I COULDN'T get because of some slightly off skew settings. Other than that, the LNBF seems to work well for the $40 I paid for it. I still have a 4DTV receiver and the Corotor II so I could go back if I want. Also have a regular Chaparral single C feed horn also that came off my SAMI dish. You NEVER can have enough "STUFF", IMHO!

RE: Your 9500? If memory serves, that one also has a tuner that will receive OTA TV too and THAT is a MAJOR plus in my book!! THAT is one function I would LOVE to see in some of these FTA boxes since there's 16 channels of that available to me.

Rule of Thumb.....
Blue Servo Box at the 11 o'clock position with Dish at Apex / Center.
That is where mine was when I took it off on Thursday afternoon.

.....When I install the feedhorn, is there any specific way that I need to skew the LNB's when I install the feedhorn......?
As stated above, that is where mine was. The new C only GeosatPro had to be rotated 90 degrees to get signal. Something Ice stated as normal. So if yours does not pickup anything keep that in mind about "twisting" it around and checking.

RT.
