Don't have a DTVPal remote myself, so I can't tell you what code the remote uses (it could use the dreaded code 0 that will work any dish receiver regardless of set remote #) However, there is a very simple solution in your case. The 508 uses an older UHF remote, not UHF Pro, so the box will listen on both UHF, and IR signals, and the remote sends out both as well. As long as you have the original 508 remote, and the UHF antenna connected to the 508, just put some electrical tape over the IR sensor of the 508 and the problem should be solved. The DTVPal will work with the IR, and the 508 will be using UHF. Good Luck
