I bought 2 dtv pals 2 months ago for 59.99 now this one is $40 what gives????

As far as I know the only difference is $19.99 and the graphics on the outside of the box.

Retailers are free to set whatever price they feel the market will bear. DISH has a strong history of starting at a high price then reducing it after they have milked the early adopters that just had to have the product.
