DSR500 upgrade option

I was ready to drop SC due to this 8PSK incompatibility of the DSR500 (+ HDD20X). But then it turned out that my local cable company (Rogers) doesn't offer HD timeshifting in my area. So I'm staying with SC.

So I found a better deal than the $99 for a DSR505

$49 for a DSR505a. These are either 505s returned to SC for one reason or another or Voom 550s reflashed with SC firmware and the OTA modules taken out. SC MRF warranty applies to these units.

Man, you are 3 weeks to late.

I ended up going for the standard web offer of $99 but would have jumped at the $49 for the 505a (or rerurb).

I had tried to call three times but they would never let me talk to anyone and they would never call back to me US number. So I had to go through the web offer to get it shipped. Add $33 for Canada Post to ship it down from my "address" in canada and it was a big price to pay for my 500 which I bought 2 weeks before the 505 came out....
