DSR-920 satellite list questions

Only the VC2+ will work in 4DTV receiver. GI/Motorola rigged receiver so that the old black 010 module would not work. Pull module as recommended. There are only a few analog VC2 channels left such as Weather and ESPN. I have a black module that still works on the old stream and was taking hits but do not look at these channels any more. The older IRDs would accept black VC2. RIP !

BUD

I have noticed a trend on Fleabay people are buying the old analog receivers I would suspect because they need a dish mover for FTA DVB receivers. Having this type of arrangement would allow keeping the BUD with motor actuator and seeing all satellites.

The Videocipher worked off a baseband video signal, its easy to build an interface module for that. The Digicipher requires its own tuner that is something that would need to be changed in making a 4DTV megapipe friendly. So in short GI may have scrapped the whole idea because of cost with and integrated module.

Then those things really were not 920 but something else put into that case simply because it was convenient for them?

OK so what is the best satellite to look for a zero key digicipher channel? I would like to access an ITC channel with this receiver so I can figure out how it works better. Does the receiver know what transponders to look for or has the dc2 transponders on the birds changed in the last 15+ years?

This receiver seems to have a password blocking the menus. Is there any way to reset the password besides doing a master reset and losing everything? is there a way to edit channels?

Call SRL they should be able to reset the password.. Programming Center | 4DTV Programming

The channels are what is stored in your channel maps. It's not a DVB receiver and don't work like that. They were specified by Motorola. Map Master will allow edits to channels or give a global list with everything hidden and not :).

How do I know what transponder the shepard channel is on? It says transponder 16 in all the lists but I am not sure how to access transponders or scan the channels with this receiver. It only allows me to change the channels but I am not sure how to find the right transponder. I was able to fine tune channel 24 to 68 signal but I am not getting a picture. I really would just like to receive one channel with this.

Shepard's chapel is on G4 channel 16 Analog. Just tune the receiver to channel 16 at 99 degree's west, vert C band.

Detailed instructions:
-Find 99w and store G4 in.
-Go to channel 16
-Set Skew for best picture.

If you need more input you can get the 4DTV receivers manuals here: 4DTV Online 4DTV TechSpot

OK, I seem to be able to almost lock the channel but it is coming in on 24. I am assuming my LNB is bad because I have a direct connection to the receiver.

It should not be coming in on 24. Either the LO is off in the LNB or maps or tuner is messed in the DSR. 17 also is up most of the time on G4 in analog its a feed channel. Its Horiz.
