Due to copyright statement at the bottom of the page I wont copy the article over.

As this story has been unfolding its come out that he knew he had TB, knew of the concerns of transmission of TB including that of flying but was more concerned about getting married than about not infecting anyone. The persons name is Andrew Speaker and the link to the local fox offiliate has a photo of this idiot, he is a lawyer in the Atlanta area.

The travel agent that got him set up for his trip had no idea he was sick and has been having some symptoms. Officials are now looking for atleast 190 potentialy effected people, one of the airlines he traveled on have quaruntined two planes for testing. Goverment officials are trying to figure out how this guy was able to get past no fly lists and no border crossing lists in Europe and Canada.

What surprised me to find out is that even before the doctors and cdc knew what strain of TB he had they did not have him quaruntined and he broke no laws by traveling with a serious contagion such as TB.

Ok heres something to think about, this guy was on a world wide no fly list once it was determined he had this rare type of TB, he found out he had it when he landed in Italy, from there he made three more flights before getting back into Canada where he crossed the border into New York state and his name was on the list for people to look out for at the border as well.

9/11 was the start of security crack downs both within our country and in the travel industry in most countries on airlines and a do not fly list was put in place. I would have expected that there would be minor issues with names on the list that shouldnt be there but this was a name that was just added, some how this guy got around the safe gaurds put in place wich leads to the question of how did he do it?

Possibilities are that security has become lax at airports both in Europe and Canada and at the border crossing from Canada into the states and on the state side, if this is the case I can see a few dozen managers and security personel loosing their jobs.

Another possibility wich I am more apt to believe is that this guy was using fake documents such as a drivers license and passport to travel from location to another. Given that he is a lawyer his ability to get legitimate looking fake documents wouldnt be that hard to do.

Either one of these possibilities shows that not only can any terrorist travel freely from one country to another but so can someone carrying a potential pandemic and both are of serious concern to everyone yet there is little being said about this issue.

Am I surprised by any of this? Nope. A college student proved how extremely stupid the TSA is and how easy it is to board a plane even if your on the no fly lists. He even showed how to forge a boarding pass to get past the TSA check points.

I'm a little surprised this guy was able to fly around the EU as the EU's Airport Security is lot stricter then the US, but the fact he crossed the Canadian/US boarder doesn't surprise me at all. There’s a news article about a US Customs agent who tried to do a laptop search of a Journalist and couldn't even figure out how to turn the darn thing on.

The bills introduced post 9/11 have done nothing to help secure our boarders. There a joke to say the least.

This guy must think since he is probably going to die he doesn't care about anyone else.

There has been very little information that he has provided other than knowing he had TB and the risk's and that his doctors explicity told him not to travel. Authorities are now investigating his father whom he works for in his law practice and his father inlaw who just happens to be a TB specialist and swears that his son inlaw did not get sick by him.
