Officially canceled service on Monday. Got the confirmation email Tuesday, telling me to just bring the boxes to a UPS Store and they take care of the rest.

Ironically later that night the promotions department calls asking if I want Showtime.

I went back to Comcast and got X1. I must say the interface is much better on X1.

Cool. You have to do what you have to do.

My discounts expire in October. If they give me another discount I’ll stick around another year, if they don’t, I’ll have to look into streaming.

When we get real windy days the dish will shake enough to knock out the signal.

It really shouldn't ...
My set up is on a 16' pole that I can shake (its supported to the house) I do that from time to time to confirm how good my dish is pointed.
I can see the dish move around but never lose signal.

Did you have the Monopoles that supported the dish (or were you on a pole) ?

They started using them a few years after the larger dish came out.

IF your Dish is roof mounted and it moves --That indicates the Dish is NOT attached to the roof Studs (only to the Plywood under-layment) and the the supports if any are Are not either. It should NOT move even in 40 mph winds

40mph is nothing if the dish is mounted correctly, into the roof studs. Here in TX we have 60-70mph winds often, and they don't affect my dish at all.

Our dishes have been up thru Hurricanes. As long as we have power and not heavy rains/clouds they keep the signals. Funny thing is, the County Hurricane Season reminder just popped up. Like TX, FL thunderstorms often reach above 50 MPH winds.
