DP Quad LNBF w/Dish Pro Plus 44

I am looking to get a dish pro plus 44 switch to enable me to operate 5 receivers. I will be using it with a dish pro quad LNBF in the following configuration. Please let me know if it will work:

I will run 2 lines directly into my 721, the other 2 lines will go into the DPP 44, and output to 4 legacy receivers.

Yes Like BFG said that will work fine. I am a retailer/installer for E*, and I have done it before.

And if you ever need to add a receiver, (you never know), you can hook the 721 to the DPP44 switch with one line and a separator, then hook the receiver line you took off the switch directly to the 3rd port on the Quad, and this will free up the 4th port for a new rec. Just a thought.

That would displace one of the legacy receivers which would then need a DP adapter to be connected to the DP Quad.

DP Quad or DP+ LNBF

Thanks for all of the feedback.

Now for my next question. Would I be any better off in this configuration to go with a DP+ LNBF? I assume that with the DP+ LNBF I am limited to 4 receivers, unless I get a second DP+ 44 switch. Are there any major benefits to a DP+ LNBF?

Actually the DP+ limits you to only 2 receivers or 2 dual tuner receivers with seperators. The DP+ is a DPP44 with the switch and satellite port bulitin, but only has 2 outputs.

Hi guys and girls, I'm not sure if you know this but in order for that configuration to work you would need to connect ports 2 and 3 of the DP Quad to ports 1 and 2 of the DPP 44. Ports 1 and 4 could be used for other purposes with out the combination of the other sat signals being provided by the 44 switch. In other words you will only get 119/110 off port 1 and 4. Also, the DPP44 has built in DP Adaptors for legacy RX's but Rx's with triple 000 (ie 6000 3000 4000 etc) will not work with the DPP 44 at all

Well, doesn't that bite? I'm surprised the 6000 is lumped in with the other x000 receivers considering the 6000 is still being touted as "State of the Art" on the HD-Demo channel. How is a 3900 more advanced than the 6000?

Thats wrong!
The 2800,3900,4900 and 6000 see the DPP44 as a SW21 4-sat(SW21/SW64 cascade) - see page 14

All other legacy receivers see the DPP44 as a SW64. See page 15

Not to pull your butt hairs but, no that is not wrong. I have installed all configurations one can concieve ... the 6000 will not work with the DPP44. Just try it before you knock it...

Hmm. Another newbie know-it-all. Any bets he hasn't "conceived" the 5-bird setup Mike did a few months back?

Anyway, my inside sources say:

The 1000,2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, JVC-DVHS, 7100, and 7200 can use it but cannot see the 4th sat port input. The 6000u can see all 4 sats, but the 6000 will see it as a SW21 4 sat setup. 1000,2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, JVC-DVHS, 7100, and 7200 will see it as a sw64.

Well, basically any odd-even ports of the Quad SHOULD work. Odd ports fire up as 119, and should go to port #1 of the switch. Even ports start as 110, and should go to Port #2 of the switch.

For standardization and ease of cabling when using dual RG-6, run Ports 1 & 2 of the Quad to switch ports 1 & 2.
