Dp 44 ??

To run a dish 1000 and a second dish for 61.5, do I use a DP44 switch and if so how do I hook it up?? Thanks..........................

but we all know what you meant

Is DPP44 always required for a second dish when using a Dish 1000 Antenna?

Is there a way to get 61.5 access this without the DPP44, if you are willing to eliminate the 129 satellite input on the Dish 1000? In other words, I want to receive signals from the 110 and 119 satellites via the Dish 1000 and receive signals from the 61.5 satellite via a second dish and LNBF.

Just run a cable from the 61.5 lnb to the DPP Twin and connect it in the SAT IN port of the DPP Twin.

Yes you can do that. Just subsitute the cable from the 129 lnb and run your 61.5 cable to the DPP lnb port and perform a check switch on all receivers. You could also use a DP34 switch but if you have any DP seperators, they will not function with that switch.

OK, a DPP44, missed a P there. But, if port 1 and 2 are for 119 and 110, port 3 is for 61,5 and port 4 is for 129, I have one coax commin from the dish 1000 for 110, 119 and 129, how's that work ?? Thanks, Jawja.............

The DPP Twin combines 119 and 110 with 129 to feed two receivers (single or dual tuners). If you want 4 satellite locations, you need the DPP44 switch.

Here is a document on the DPP Twin. You can see that it has one LNB input for a third satellite location.

The D1000 comes with a DPP Twin (119 and 110) and a DP Dual (129) LNBs. There is a cable that goes from the DP Dual to the DPP Twin and the outputs of the DPP Twin go to the receivers. If you want to add 61.5 instead of 129, just run a cable from the LNB at 61.5 to the DPP Twin and run check switch on the receivers.

If you're adding 61.5, you will run 3 lines from the Dish1000 (1 each from the 119, 110, 129 outputs) to the DPP44 and another line from the extra dish.

61.5 goes in port 3 and 129 goes in port 4, this favors 61.5 for your HD Voom channels.

Thanks for the informative and quick response.

You definitely know more about this subject than my local installer "expert" guy, who told his junior field installer that I would absolutely need an expensive DPP44 switch to substitute a second antenna/LNBF aimed at the 61.5 satellite for the lower power 129 satellite LNBF that is already on the Dish 1000 antenna.

You knowledgeable guys make this forum a great resource!

jawja,

You have to run a separate run for each satellite location if you're using a switch. In this case you NEED the DPP44 for the 4 satellite locations.

If you're getting only 3 satellite locations (119, 110, 129 or 61.5), you could use the DPP Twin and feed the third location to the DPP Twin and then run a single cable to each receiver (max. 2 receivers).
