The only thing I know about comes about twenty four years after that. Asteroid 99942 Apophis will have a close approach to Earth in April 2029 and Earth may influence Apophis' orbit enough to put it on a trajectory to impact Earth in 2036. ia m not predicting doomsday but I don't think that the Mayan calendar was intended to just start over. Does anyone know for sure.
I always thought that, in the right hands, Rendezvous with Rama would've been a terrific movie too.

Well, if any of them were still around I am sure it would have been updated by now. It served its purpose.

Although Betelgeuse, the star, is supposed to go supernova in about 500,000 years and blast us with gamma rays that will make it all a moot point anyway....
