Former Steeler Porter cited in Sin City brawl

Monday, March 19, 2007
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Former Steelers linebacker Joey Porter was cited for misdemeanor battery Sunday after allegedly punching a Cincinnati Bengals player in the face at a casino, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Porter was cited after a brief fight at a gaming table with Levi Jones, an offensive tackle with the Bengals.

"Apparently these two have a history with each other, a history of trash talking on the field," Las Vegas police LT. Kevin McMahill said, according to the Journal. Jones was treated at the scene.

After the Steelers released Porter earlier this month, he signed a five-year, $32 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.

Well at least Joey Porter is a Dolphin and not a Steeler anymore, and of course another Bungle is involved.

its really sad because i think there is enough talent on this team that they could go far, if only some members could stay out of trouble.

Glad Porter is staying out of trouble-I do have to say I hope Dolphins crack down on him...I think Cowher did a great job of keeping his players in line.

Video is suppose to come out later this week that shows Joey Porter and his "posse" threw the 1st punch in this whole incident. The thing that kills me is that all these Miami Dolphin fans down here are "glad we have a little attitude down here" and we should "let men be men". This reminds me in many ways when Dennis Rodman came to the Bulls. BUT, the difference is, Rodman relatively behaved OFF the court....AND he was not STUPID enough to do something negative BEFORE IS VERY 1st DAY OF PRACTICE!!

Ahhh, Joey Porter...a true roll model. Finally, funny how people will ABSOLUTELY HATE a guy and think just how dirty, obnoxious and an a$$**le a guy is....until he plays on YOUR favorite team.....then suddenly, the guy is a "misunderstood/misguided player"...or my favorite, "he just needed a change of scenery".....

We're familiar with the "dirty, obnoxious and an a$$**le a guy he is..." thing here in Detroit. Laimbeer, Chelios, and our latest arrival, Todd Bertuzzi. You're right, now they're our a$$**les. Glad to have them.

I don't remember Chris Chelios considered "dirty" or an "a$$**le". I remember partying with him many times when I worked with the defunct Sportchannel Chicago back in his days as a BlackHawk.:up

We hit many of Greek restaurants and bars......:D

Hey, I always liked Porter, still do. It's just funny that the instant he left Pittsburgh he's in trouble.

He's always been a player with a chip on his shoulder, but he'll die in the trenches for his team.

Just people who live in Miami, look out for his dogs, don't say I didn't warn you.:D

Trust me, in Detroit (before he came here), that was what WE thought of him. Of course you don't think of him that way then, because he was YOUR a$$**le. By the way this does not reflect on him off the ice. I met him at his bar in Detroit, and he was very nice to us. But his reputation on the ice was a whole different thing. To close this issue, let be known that my Wings jersey is a Chelios one.

Yeah...but the from what I remember, RedWing fans were the only ones that thought that way.
