Does the ViP 622 typically have lower signal strength

I have a 622 and I can't get above 85 for the 119 on a Dish 1k. I have no line of sight problems and I am trying to peak on a crystal clear day. Sometimes, at night after it cools off, I can just crest 90, however, I don't see this much.

In addition, I am getting in the 50-60 range on 110 and the 60 range on the 129 with a 1k. My spot beam on 110 hits 90+

No signal breakups are observed.

An install tech said that the 622 typically has lower signal strength. Is there any validity to this?

I am in SW Idaho.

Thanks.

i noticed dual tuner boxes have lover signals for example take 322 the signal on 119 T-11 signal would be 95, and if you plug in 311/301 signal would be 115/113

I'm in NE Ca. my spotbeam is on 119, so no help there, but generally readings on 622 are lower then 522 and 811. Your 110 readings are quite low, you would do better with a second dish for 129, that way you could peak for only 110 and 119 with your 1k. Gimmie your spotbeam tp and a couple other readings and I will compare with mine if you would like.

Do you have a seperate feed to the dual tuners, or a seperator. While the seperators allow both to be on one cable, there is always a loss when anything, even a connector, is put in place. Also, did the installer back haul the rf output from tuner 2 on the same cable? This definately adds a loss. All these losses are more in rf level and not quality, except on the analog UHF output of tuner 2 when back hauled.

It's always best with the dish 1000 to put a DP dual (or single) in the 119 slot when finding and peaking the signal.

I start by getting the skew and elevation from either the instruction book or the system menu. Use this as the starting point.

Then tighten the bolts somewhat but still be able to move the dish freely from side-to side.

Move the dish side-to-side until you find the strongest signal. Then tighten the bolts.

Next, losen your elevation bolts and move the dish up-and-down until you find the strongest signal. Then tighten the bolts.

Put the DP dual (or single) back in the 129 slot, and the DP Twin Plus or DP Twin into its slots for 119 and 110.

With a clear shot, you should be able to get the 119 in the 100-110 range, the 110 in the 90-100 range and the 129 in the 70-80 range.

Now if your mounting location won't allow you to change out your LNBs like previously mention, you just have to do the best you can.
