Ok so we don't have any Australian FTA finding it's way to North America, how about FTA in Australia itself. Are the guys watching stuff over there as a hobby and if so, anyone know where they hang out?
I've looked around at the FTA boards in Europe, they seem a little hostile with all the hacking going on over there.

If you dig deeper into Coop's website, he has archives and DVDs/CDs for sale that include his decades of published magazines, including Coop's Satellite Digest (prior to 1988) and SatFacts
(published from New Zealand from about 1994 to this past year).

Also worth pursuing are the many offerings that explain satellite and TV reception, now offered at a fraction of their original selling price, and cover the basics from the ground up. There's a lot to be learned by studying the history of this industry first hand, and SatFacts did that well for the entire South Pacific region, including Australia.

Bob Cooper has to be one of the most INTERESTING people I have ever spoken to about this hobby.

Mike Kohl, I would say your #2. :)

ding, ding, ding!

So far, everybody missed the Vetrun forum.
It's a lively community, with a lot of local color.
I tried to blend in, but in all fairness, they didn't really need someone from the USA, down there.

Many of the LNBs and receivers they have, are same as what we have, but under different names.

If you do visit, keep quite and just read.
Don't want to spook the natives.

I didn't really want to chat, just lurk in the background and see if they have anything good going. I used to hang around a TiVo message board there. They did some amazing mods to get it to work in a country that uses different tv channels and there was no TiVo guide service.
