I heard ALTV (ALN) on the 4DTV is leaving W5 AMC-18

There web page shows there satellite location as:

Satellite Information

  • Name: Intel Sat Galaxy 17
  • C-Band Transponder: 13Q
  • Location: 91º West
  • Polarization: Horizontal
  • Frequency: L-Band 1190
  • SYM Rate: 29.27 Mbps, FEC: 7/8
  • VCT: 213
Anyone found them at this location and if so what encryption are they using?

It's in a DC2 mux. It's encrypted in NS mode. Looks like a subscription is needed. Doesn't look like it's mapped. CE@GB 356 with reverse polarity will work.

Since they are still part of HITS, I wonder if a sub to a AMC-18 package containing them will allow the G17 ALTV to open up?

Thank's I'll have to check it out with the generic. Too late to mess with it tonight though. I knew satellite guys would come through :)

I haven't been watching ALTV as much as I used to. For my taste in programming, Mission Impossible is the only thing left I enjoy. I used to watch the programs like Rat Patrol, Combat, Twelve O'clock High, Man From Uncle and all the Irwin Allen shows. Changes started when they were sold last year.

I'll give the generics a try myself.
