Doa 3700?

I got a dish 3700 rec and card from a friend who has not used it for a long time. I wanted to see if it works, so I tried hooking it up to an old Sony Direc that I have. Dual LNB. Works on the Directv box I have, but could not get any signal on the Dish box. I am assuming that I can use this dish I have with this 3700. There are selections for all 4 sats in the menu. Am I doing something wrong? Are the lnbs not interoperable between DTV and Dish. (I would not think so.) I just want to see if it picks up signal. Or do I need a Dish500 so it can see 119 and 110 at the same time? I AM NOT HACKING---in case that comes up. Just want to know if this box is dead. Thanks fellas.

You would have to aim the dish at 119 or 110 (obviously)

Yes, it will work. If its a Phase III (with the 3 LNB's) it won't work on Dish
