Do I have to connect to a phone line?

Phone Lines ARE NOT required to be hooked-up to your Directv Receivers. I received this information from a reliable source (I know personally) at Directv Headquarters in El Sugundo, California.

YES, you will receive NFL Ticket on all of your Directv Receivers, without the phone lines being connected.

Phone Lines are ONLY used to order Pay Per View items.

Remember, anything to the contrary is just "hog-wash".

So to clarify after reading information in this thread, after the initial DVR setup the phone line doesn't need to be connected for Tivo service?
