DishOnline free content

I have nothing under TV entertainment either. Also nothing under video highlights on the olympic interactive.

Looks like they added A LOT of free content yesterday, including some HD Olympic stuff.

I tried downloading the Opening Ceremonies in HD last night...was slated to be a 5 hour+ download but expected to have it this morning.

Apparently, my internet connection went down at some point overnight and I didn't get the download. I have succesfully downloaded a couple of SD programs...looks like they're still expanding it.

Anyone have luck with an HD download yet?

I am having no luck being able to view any downloaded content (Free) tv programs on my VIP722. Have tried two different shows which have both succesfully downloaded, show ready with the expire date... Press Start on the right hand side and get the "Please Wait..." Then 2 to 5 minutes elapse and I just get bumped back to my current station. Anyone else experiencing this? :what

I downloaded the Olympic opening ceremonies in HD overnight on Sun. night. Took all night so I watched it last night. (My locals are still SD.) Looked real good, commercials were removed, and was free!! Yippee!!

I noticed last night that between late Sun. night and Monday night, they added a bunch of stuff! Now they have stuff that actually sounds interesting.

Make sure you are looking in the "DISH Online" section (I think it's option 5 after hitting the DVR button once on a 722.) THEN select TV Entertainment. I think you need to be connected to broadband. I have the new software, if that matters.

I did notice that I had trouble trying to watch the HD ceremonies I downloaded on TV#2. It said processing your request for a long time and then just switched to live TV. Went to TV#1 and it worked fine. Didn't look into it, but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for that bit of information. It was late last night when I tried to view the downloaded content from TV#2 just assuming it would work as other DVR recorded programs via either set and didn't take the time to try on TV#1  Currently at work so can't remember if both shows were HD or not, one was Babe Winkleman's fishing whatever... and the other was some kind of coal mining documentary that sounded interesting which I actually downloaded to try several days ago and forgot all about. Neither would play on TV#2 and would kick back to live programming after the "Please Wait..." delay.

I finally got the hd stuff to work. It took quite a while to get it to download but I watched it.

I wish they would label the HD stuff. I watched an olympic swim final from 2004 and it had horrible motion blur like a slideshow with double frames (not macroblocking). Then I watched some SD, it looked like really crappy 480x240 internet video complete with macroblocking... What other titles are HD???

YOU GUYS ARE LUCKY i DO NOT HAVE THE NEW SOFTWARE. Maybe I am lucky not to have it . It sounds like the downloads are very bad picture wise is that right???

They actually do label it...HD should be at the end of the title

NO, the sound and picture quality is fine. The hd is good as any on tv now. It took longer to download the hd than the sd ,but it was still good quality.

Update: Confirmed TV#1 plays the downloaded content fine but is a no go when trying to view on TV#2 - does not seem dependent on being HD or not. Wonder if this is a quirck in the current software version or if by design?
