dishnetwork with directv??????????

How can i hook up my directv dish to my dishnetwork receiver.....i have 2 directv dishes with dual lnb in each and i only have one dishnetwork receiver and please tell me where and how to aim them....thank you inadvance

Which DISH receiver do you have? If it's relatively new, you won't be able to hook it up to a Directv LNB.

well i know the reciever is over 2 years old .....its the big thick black box with the card on the left hand side.......i will go look and see....... the model number is 1000........ reg id 004.....8703 3116709

aim one of the satellites at the 119, the other one at the 110, and then take one wire from each satellite into a SW21 switch, then out to the reciever

Nope. OP said he has two Directv dishes, so he can combine both satellites with a SW21.

Even if you could get the Model 1000 to get good signal, you will not be happy with the receiver. That model was build when electronics were still expensive. If you want I sent you a club dish card and just start with new equipment.

he probably doesnt want the contract, and he wants to do it himself with the equipment he already has. just my guess.
and i know people still using their old 1000's and are completely happy with them. stable recievers... dish is no longer constantly issuing "fixes" that make them buggy

Thanks to all i finally got it working using both my directv dishes i am getting a great picture.......now im learning about dish network since im use too directv since i install for them....i think im going to learn more about dishnetwork and see what happens.........thanks to all and your expertise in dishnetwork
