The model 6000 has a 15 pin RGB output. If I connect that to a VGA input on a LCD computer monitor, will I get video? I am not worried about HD, but how good is the picture quaility of RGB output compared to s-vid or rca? thanks

so the RGB output on the 6000 will not give 480i or 480p resolutions? my 22" LCD monitor will only go up to 480p

yeah I just looked it up for myself.. no 480 with RGB on a 6000. My plan was to setup a dish reciever and a PC to a LCD monitor. The monitor has a DVI and VGA input. I was going to run the DVI to the PC and the VGA to the RGB on the 6000, but now I know the 6000's RGB doesn't support 480.. After thinking for a few minutes, I remembered I got a 811 stored away that I haven't used for about 3 years. I believe I can use DVI to the 811, since that will support 480p and just use VGA to the PC. I believe this will work, if anyone thinks there will be a problem with that or knows a better way.. please let me know. thanks

Why would you want to send 480p to a computer monitor? I have used a 6000 with a computer monitor with the output set at 720p or 1080i and it works fine. The 6000 upconverts the SD channels to 720p/1080i.

I wish I could use the LCD at a higher resolution for watching TV, but the highest I can get a TV picture using the DVI is 480p.

when I first got the LCD, I hooked it up to my 722 using a HDMI/DVI adapter and tryed both 1080i and 720p but neither resolution would give me a picture. When I have the LCD connected to my PC, I use the max resolution my video card gives which is 1680 x 1050. So I can't tell you why I can only see 480p while watching TV..
