Guess the wife finally put her foot down on no more dishes. Just came across a 6ft unimesh dish thats free for the taking, but I was told "no more!" Who would of thought 6 dishes would be too many

Sadly I will have to pass on it

LOL

I actually would have no room unless its stored away. City house lots dont offer much room but still, its free!

Will she let you have a supply depot? In quarters, that little dish can hide away in the tiniest of spaces.

I have to drive pretty far now to find any mesh dishes left in the wild. One hail storm from now and you may wish you had kept that mini-BUD and other spare dishes for yourself.

If you live out in the country, the more dishes the better TV for her too. But in town I could kind of see her point, almost....

Im working on it, she wasnt too happy when the S10 just happened to appear from a little brown truck that drives around town.

Did get the 5th dish on a pole this afternoon, a little channel master 74e. Need to find two more 3x4 switches for the other two CM lnb's. As of right now I have two Ku dishes unassigned so im still undecided on where to point them.

Currently have 91k, 97k, 58c locked on plus one traveling. Dont really need movies but rather have feeds and news stations. What sats would be best for those?

That darn brown truck causes problems here too!

Five dishes is better than being shut off and not getting any... channels! ;)

Maybe your wife will tell you where to stick them!!!

So far she hasnt getten to the point yet. Bribing always helps though

"Hey lets go to that restraunt you have always been wanting to try" :)

My wife puts up with the BUD because it gets her TV. No BUD - no TV. It made her decision easier. I'm not paying $150-200 month for what I can get for free. I don't know that most stuff on TV is worth paying for anyway. But that's another argument.

I cant do the "its either dish or no tv" option since I work for the cable co and one of the perks is extremely cheap cable television.

But on the other hand I have come across a few places with C band dishes but they are rusted out and out of shape:(

Show her the pic quality of cable vs fta! No contest!

Maintain the same dish count, but just upgrade each position.
Put in 1.2m dishes where you had 90cm before! :)
Consider multiple LNBFs on some dishes, to get more birds.
And I think I saw some $5 3x4 switches at DishStore.Net (gold sponsor).

This used to be in the signature of one of our members:
brentb636: "My wife glares at me when the UPS truck shows up."

I second this. If she doesn't like this, I'd even offer to take two down and put up the BUD. Show her you're desperate - you want that BUD!

There is another method - act first, apologize later. I've sometimes found it easier to apologize and grovel than it was to ask permission.

Do what I do...install extra dish while she is away for the day. When she returns she will never notice.

If that doesn't work point out some of the programming she may be interested in watching like "PBS", "Create", "THIS", etc.

What does she REALLY like? Get her more of it! For my wife it's furry creatures. I have done so much work for her horses she can't possibly say no when I bring another dish home. She hardly batted an eyelash when I lag bolted a 1m dish to the deck this past weekend.............temporarily...........unless, of course, it works!
